Create your Spotify QR code

Spotify link

In Spotify, tap Share on a song, album, playlist, artist or podcast and choose Copy link.

Your QR code appears here as you fill in the form.

Test it with your phone camera before you print or share it: point the camera at the preview and check it does what you expect.

How much of the code can be dirty, scratched or covered and still scan. Higher levels add more squares, so the code gets denser. Medium suits most uses; choose High for a logo or rough surfaces.

The blank border scanners need around the code. It never goes below 4 modules (the code’s small squares), as the QR standard asks.

Sharp up to 17 cm (6.8 in) at 300 dpi. SVG scales to any size.

Logo in the center (optional)

PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG. It stays in your browser and is never uploaded.

How to make a Spotify QR code

  1. Copy the Spotify link

In Spotify, open the song, album, playlist, artist or podcast, tap Share and choose Copy link.

  2. Paste it above

Paste the link. Spotify URIs (spotify:track:…) work too.

  3. Style it (optional)

Pick colors and add your logo.

  4. Download it

Download an SVG for posters, merch and album sleeves, or a PNG for screens.

  5. Test it

Scan it with your phone: it should open in the Spotify app if it’s installed.

What a Spotify QR code contains

The code holds the Spotify web link. Phones with Spotify installed open it in the app; others open Spotify in the browser.

https://open.spotify.com/album/4aBcD3fGh1jKlMn0pQrStU
track/…
One song.
album/…
An album.
playlist/…
A playlist.
artist/…
An artist’s page.
show/… or episode/…
A podcast, or one episode.

A playlist keeps the same link as you change its songs, so it’s a good choice for a code that should stay fresh.

Tips for printing and scanning

For Spotify QR codes

  • For events, shops and venues, link a playlist: change the songs any time and the code stays the same.
  • Make sure a playlist is public, or people who scan won’t see it.
  • Say what people will hear, for example “Scan for our wedding playlist”.

For any printed QR code

  • Size: print the code at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for something held in the hand. For signs and posters, make it about a tenth of the scanning distance: roughly 10 cm (4 in) wide to scan from 1 m (3 ft).
  • Contrast: use a dark code on a light background. Light-on-dark codes and pale brand colors fail on some phones.
  • Quiet zone: keep a blank border of at least 4 modules (the code’s small squares) around it. Don’t crop it or put text and graphics right up against the code.
  • File type: use the SVG for print, since it stays sharp at any size. The 2048 px PNG is enough for print up to about 17 cm (6.8 in) wide at 300 dpi.
  • Surface: avoid glare from glossy laminate, tight curves (bottles, cups) and folds that cut through the code.
  • Test: scan a printed proof with an iPhone and an Android phone, at the real distance and in the real lighting, before you print in bulk.

When to use a dynamic code instead

A dynamic code lets you swap the link after printing, for example from a single to the full album on release day, and counts how many people scanned it.

Dynamic codes need a free CirculateQR account. On the free plan a dynamic code stays live for 14 days after you publish it; on a paid plan your codes stay live with no time limit, or you can keep a single code for a one-time $5.

The code you make on this page is static: free, permanent and private, but fixed once printed. Static and dynamic codes compared.

Spotify QR code questions

What’s the difference between a Spotify Code and a QR code?

Spotify Codes are Spotify’s own scannable images, and they only scan inside the Spotify app. A QR code works with any phone camera and opens Spotify, or Spotify in the browser if the app isn’t installed.

Do people need the Spotify app?

No. Without the app, the link opens Spotify in the browser, where people may be asked to log in or sign up to play it.

Can I make a QR code for a podcast?

Yes. Share the podcast or one episode in Spotify, copy the link and paste it above.

Do Spotify QR codes expire?

No. The code holds the Spotify link, so it works for as long as the song, album, playlist or podcast stays on Spotify.

Can I see how many people scanned it?

Not with a static code. A dynamic CirculateQR code counts every scan.
