Create your QR code with a logo
Your QR code appears here as you fill in the form.
Test it with your phone camera before you print or share it: point the camera at the preview and check it does what you expect.
Colors, logo and size
The blank border scanners need around the code. It never goes below 4 modules (the code’s small squares), as the QR standard asks.
Sharp up to 17 cm (6.8 in) at 300 dpi. SVG scales to any size.
Logo in the center (optional)
PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG. It stays in your browser and is never uploaded.
How to make a logo QR code
Paste the link
Paste the web address the code should open. If you leave out https://, it’s added for you.
Add your logo
Under “Colors, logo and size”, choose your logo: a PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG under 5 MB. A square logo on a white or transparent background works best.
Set the logo size
Start with the default, 20% of the code’s width. You can choose from 10% to 25%; smaller logos scan more reliably.
Pick your colors
Use a dark brand color for the code on a light background, so the contrast stays strong.
Download and test
Download an SVG for print or a PNG for screens, then scan it with an iPhone and an Android phone before you print.
How a QR code with a logo still scans
A logo covers some of the code’s squares. QR codes are built to survive that: they store the data with error correction, so a phone can rebuild the parts it can’t see. When you add a logo, this generator always uses the highest level, High, which can recover about 30% of the code.

The logo is part of the picture, not the data: the code still holds only your link. That’s why the logo has limits. Too big, too pale or too close to the three corner squares, and phones start to fail. The 10–25% range here keeps the logo within what High error correction can recover, as long as the rest of the code stays clear.
Tips for printing and scanning
For logo QR codes
- Use a simple version of your logo: an icon or initials read better at small sizes than a full wordmark.
- Give the logo a solid background (white works on any code), so its edges don’t blend into the squares around it.
- Keep the code itself dark on light. Brand colors are fine if they’re dark enough; pale codes and light-on-dark codes fail on some phones.
- Print a logo code a little larger than you would a plain one: High error correction makes the pattern denser, so each square is smaller.
For any printed QR code
- Size: print the code at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for something held in the hand. For signs and posters, make it about a tenth of the scanning distance: roughly 10 cm (4 in) wide to scan from 1 m (3 ft).
- Contrast: use a dark code on a light background. Light-on-dark codes and pale brand colors fail on some phones.
- Quiet zone: keep a blank border of at least 4 modules (the code’s small squares) around it. Don’t crop it or put text and graphics right up against the code.
- File type: use the SVG for print, since it stays sharp at any size. The 2048 px PNG is enough for print up to about 17 cm (6.8 in) wide at 300 dpi.
- Surface: avoid glare from glossy laminate, tight curves (bottles, cups) and folds that cut through the code.
- Test: scan a printed proof with an iPhone and an Android phone, at the real distance and in the real lighting, before you print in bulk.
When to use a dynamic code instead
The code made here is static: its link is fixed once it’s printed. A dynamic code holds a short CirculateQR link instead, so you can change where it goes at any time, and it counts every scan.
Logos on dynamic codes come with the Studio plan, along with brand colors, longer scan history and time and location routing. Monthly Studio starts with a 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
Dynamic codes need a free CirculateQR account. On the free plan a dynamic code stays live for 14 days after you publish it; on a paid plan your codes stay live with no time limit, or you can keep a single code for a one-time $5.
The code you make on this page is static: free, permanent and private, but fixed once printed. Static and dynamic codes compared.
Logo QR code questions
Is this QR code generator with logo really free?
Yes. Adding a logo, choosing colors and downloading PNG or SVG files are free here, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Will a QR code with a logo still scan?
Yes, if the logo isn’t too big and the code has strong contrast. The generator switches error correction to High whenever you add a logo, so phones can still read the code with about 30% of it covered. Always test a printed proof with a few phones.
How big can the logo be?
From 10% to 25% of the code’s width. Around 20% is a good balance; go smaller if the code will be printed small or scanned from far away.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. Your logo is resized and drawn into the code inside your browser. It isn’t sent to CirculateQR or anyone else.
Does the SVG download include the logo?
Yes. The code is drawn as sharp vector shapes, and your logo is embedded in the same file as an image up to 512 pixels across, which is plenty for business cards, flyers and posters.
Do QR codes with a logo expire?
No. The code holds your link directly, so it works for as long as the page it points to does.
Can I put a logo on a dynamic QR code?
Yes, in CirculateQR Studio on the Studio plan or higher. Dynamic codes let you change the link after printing and see how many people scanned.
