Create your Zoom QR code

Zoom meeting link

The invite link for a recurring meeting or your personal meeting room keeps working longest.

Your QR code appears here as you fill in the form.

Test it with your phone camera before you print or share it: point the camera at the preview and check it does what you expect.

How much of the code can be dirty, scratched or covered and still scan. Higher levels add more squares, so the code gets denser. Medium suits most uses; choose High for a logo or rough surfaces.

The blank border scanners need around the code. It never goes below 4 modules (the code’s small squares), as the QR standard asks.

Sharp up to 17 cm (6.8 in) at 300 dpi. SVG scales to any size.

Logo in the center (optional)

PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG. It stays in your browser and is never uploaded.

How to make a Zoom QR code

  1. Copy the meeting link

In Zoom, open the meeting and copy its invite link. For a code you’ll print, use a recurring meeting or your personal meeting room, which keep the same link.

  2. Paste it above

The generator warns you if the link includes the passcode.

  3. Style it (optional)

Pick colors and add your logo.

  4. Download it

Download a PNG for slides and screens, or an SVG for print.

  5. Test it

Scan it with your phone: it should open the meeting in the Zoom app.

What a Zoom QR code contains

The code holds the meeting link. Scanning it opens the Zoom app, or the browser, ready to join.

https://zoom.us/j/12345678901?pwd=AbCdEfGh123
/j/12345678901
The meeting ID.
?pwd=…
The passcode, so people join without typing it. Anyone with the code can join.

Zoom meeting links don’t last forever: links to one-off meetings expire 30 days after the scheduled date, and links to recurring meetings a year after the meeting was last started. Your personal meeting room keeps the same link.

Tips for printing and scanning

For Zoom QR codes

  • If the passcode is in the link, anyone who scans can join. Turn on the waiting room for meetings that shouldn’t be open to everyone.
  • Put the meeting’s name, day and time next to the code.
  • On a slide, make the code big: people scan it from their seats.

For any printed QR code

  • Size: print the code at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide for something held in the hand. For signs and posters, make it about a tenth of the scanning distance: roughly 10 cm (4 in) wide to scan from 1 m (3 ft).
  • Contrast: use a dark code on a light background. Light-on-dark codes and pale brand colors fail on some phones.
  • Quiet zone: keep a blank border of at least 4 modules (the code’s small squares) around it. Don’t crop it or put text and graphics right up against the code.
  • File type: use the SVG for print, since it stays sharp at any size. The 2048 px PNG is enough for print up to about 17 cm (6.8 in) wide at 300 dpi.
  • Surface: avoid glare from glossy laminate, tight curves (bottles, cups) and folds that cut through the code.
  • Test: scan a printed proof with an iPhone and an Android phone, at the real distance and in the real lighting, before you print in bulk.

When to use a dynamic code instead

Dynamic codes suit meetings well: when the link changes or a one-off meeting expires, you point the code at the new link instead of reprinting, and you can see how many people scanned.

Dynamic codes need a free CirculateQR account. On the free plan a dynamic code stays live for 14 days after you publish it; on a paid plan your codes stay live with no time limit, or you can keep a single code for a one-time $5.

The code you make on this page is static: free, permanent and private, but fixed once printed. Static and dynamic codes compared.

Zoom QR code questions

Do Zoom QR codes expire?

The code itself doesn’t, but the meeting link inside it can: one-off meeting links expire 30 days after the scheduled date, and recurring ones a year after the meeting was last started. For anything printed, use a recurring meeting, your personal meeting room or a dynamic code.

Is it safe to put the passcode in the code?

Only if anyone who sees the code may join. For private meetings, remove the ?pwd= part from the link and share the passcode separately, or use a waiting room.

Can people join without the Zoom app?

If Zoom isn’t installed, the link opens in the browser, which offers to install the app or, on many devices, to join from the browser.

Does it work for Zoom webinars?

Yes. Paste the webinar’s join or registration link.

Is this Zoom QR code generator free?

Yes. Making and downloading the code is free, with no sign-up and no watermark.
