A collar tag that lets a finder call or text the owner

To use a QR code on a pet tag, put a small code on the collar that opens a contact page for the owner. Studio's Luggage Tags template is built for this: a short note for the finder, call, text and email buttons, and no Save contact button or home address. If the phone number changes, edit the page instead of buying a new tag. Each scan is logged with the time and an approximate city, based on the scanner's IP address.

The problem

Why the printed version falls short

Engraved tags can't change when you move or change numbers

A small tag only fits a name and one number

Some finders would rather text than call a stranger

Medical needs don't fit on the tag

You can't tell whether anyone found the tag

What you get

Pet Services with CirculateQR

A small code on the collar tag opens a contact page with a note for the finder and call, text and email buttons. Groomers, daycares and shelters can set them up for clients, and owners can make their own.

  • Call, text and email buttons for the finder
  • A short note, such as a medical need
  • No home address on the tag
  • Change the number without a new tag
  • Scan time and approximate city in your dashboard
  • Any phone camera opens it; the finder needs no app
How it works

How to set it up

  1. Fill in the contact page

In Studio, open the Luggage Tags template. Add the pet's name, your phone number and email, and a short note for the finder.
  2. Keep the code plain

Generate a plain code without a logo so it scans at tag size, and test it with your phone.
  3. Print or engrave it

Download it as PNG, SVG or PDF and have it printed or engraved on a tag.
  4. Update when things change

If you move or change numbers, edit the page. The tag keeps working.
Features

Useful extras

Scan Log

See when the tag was scanned and the approximate city, from the scanner's IP address. History is 7 days on Free, 90 days on Studio and 1 year on Artisan.

Business Contact Page

Groomers, walkers and daycares can use the Business Card template for a contact page with a Book button and Save contact.

Permanent Code

On the free plan, a one-time $5 payment keeps one code live permanently, so a tag doesn't pause after 14 days.

A plan badge means that plan or higher is needed. Paid marketplace templates show their one-time price. Compare plans

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the finder need an app?

No. Any phone camera opens the page in the browser.

Will I be told when someone scans the tag?

Scans appear in your dashboard with the time and approximate city. A finder contacts you through the buttons on the page.

Does the tag keep working on the free plan?

Dynamic codes on the free plan pause 14 days after publishing. To keep a tag live, use a paid plan or the one-time $5 payment for that code. A static contact code also works forever, but it can't be edited or tracked.

Is this a GPS tracker?

No. The code only opens a contact page. The location in your scan history is an approximate city from the scanner's IP address, not GPS.

Can I add vet or medical details?

Yes, in the note on the page. Keep it short, and leave out anything you wouldn't want a stranger to read.

Start with the Luggage Tags template

The template opens in Studio with starter content filled in. Change the text, pick a design and download. The free plan needs no card.
