Recipe cards that open the full method and video

To use a QR code on a recipe card, print a code that opens a recipe page. Studio's Product Packaging template works for this: a dish photo, the name, a description that keeps your line breaks for the method, label-and-value details for ingredients and amounts, a highlighted notice for allergens, a main button such as 'Watch the video' and extra links. Fix a typo or swap an ingredient after printing; the card stays the same.

The problem

Why the printed version falls short

A small card can't fit the full method

Technique is hard to explain without a video

A printed mistake stays on every card

Allergen notes get cut to save space

Customers lose the card and can't find the recipe online

What you get

Recipe Cards with CirculateQR

A code on a recipe card, pack or cookbook page opens a mobile page with a photo of the dish, ingredients with amounts, the method, an allergen notice and links to a video or more recipes.

  • Dish photo, ingredients and method on one page
  • Ingredients as a clear list of amounts
  • A highlighted allergen or food safety notice
  • A main button for the video or your shop
  • Fix mistakes after printing
  • Scan counts for each recipe
How it works

How to set it up

  1. Create the recipe page

In Studio, open the Product Packaging template. Replace the sample with the dish name, a photo and a short introduction, then write the method in the description.
  2. List the ingredients

Add each ingredient as a detail, with the amount as the value. Add serving size and cooking time the same way.
  3. Add the notice and links

Use the notice for allergens. Set the main button to your video or shop, and link to a printable version.
  4. Print and update

Add the code to the card, pack or cookbook page. Edit the page whenever the recipe changes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I add a cooking video?

Link to it. The main button or a link can open your video on YouTube or your own site. Videos aren't embedded in the page.

Can the page scale servings or build a shopping list?

No. The page shows the recipe as you write it. You can add a second set of amounts as extra details if you want.

Does each recipe need its own code?

Yes, one page and code per recipe. The free plan includes 3 hosted pages, Studio 25 and Artisan unlimited.

Can food brands use it on packaging?

Yes. Print the code on the pack and edit the recipe page whenever you like. The pack doesn't change.

What happens to the code on the free plan?

Dynamic codes stay live 14 days after publishing, then pause until you upgrade. A one-time $5 payment keeps one code live permanently.

Start with the Product Packaging template

The template opens in Studio with starter content filled in. Change the text, pick a design and download. The free plan needs no card.
